VITEE 2008 Important Dates
• Issue of VITEEE-2008 Application Forms starts from 31st December 2007.
• Last date for the Sale/Receipt of filled VITEEE Application forms - 20th February 2008.
• VITEEE 2008 Applications can be obtained from selected post offices through out India, the details will be furnished in the website on 30th December 2007
• VITEEE 2008 Date - Engg. Entrance Examination will be held on 19th April 2008 (Saturday)

VITEEE 2008 Eligibility :
* A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)
* A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology(PCM / PCB) for Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must fill in the proforma as given in Appendix-VI and have it attested by competent authority (The list of authorities empowered for the same is given in Appendix-VI).
Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh should fill in CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY proforma given in Appendix-VI.
These documents should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
* Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes
* Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes

COMBINED BIOTECHNOLOGY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO
M.Sc (Biotech); M.Sc (Agri)/ M.V.Sc. (Biotech); & M.Tech (Biotech) PROGRAMMES: 2008-09
On behalf of various participating Universities, the Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination on Friday, May 18, 2008 at 51 cities spread all over the country for admission to : (1) M.Sc ( Biotechnology) ; (2) M.Sc (Agri) / M.V.Sc Biotechnology ; and (3) M.Tech Biotechnology Programmes.
Application form and prospectus can be obtained by post by sending a request to the Deputy Registrar (CEEB) JNU, New Delhi – 110067, along with a bank draft of Rs.180/- drawn in favour of JNU New Delhi, together with a self – addressed unstamped envelope of 28 x 20 cms size mentioning clearly the course for which the form is required i.e. for (1) M.Sc (Biotech) OR (2) M.Sc (Agri) / M.V.Sc. (Biotech); OR (3) M.Tech (Biotech)

Completion of 6 Months Advance Program at BII
6 Months Advance Program in Bioinformatics has been completed and new batch will commence in February.
The program is ment for a select students wishing to specialise in Bioinformatics. The program is conducted at Institute campus at Noida.
BII Corporate Training on Statistical Techniques - Indraprasth Apollo Hospitals
BII has successfully conducted a corporate training on "Statistical Techniques" at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. The training was was conducteby Dr Kumud Sarin and Dr A Das.
training was well received and was attended by several Head of the Departments. In future many more trainings are planned.BII in past has also conducted several succesful trainings at Hospitals, Pharma and IT companies.
