Applications are invited along with the attested copies of Certificates of qualifications, experience etc. for the following purely temporary positions in various research projects under the DST’s “PURSE” grant of the University in the following Departments /Centres/Institutes, which is tenable for a period of one year likely to be extended and co-terminus with the project.
Junior Research Fellows in following disciplines as per DST norms:
1. Biochemistry
* Identification of Natural Products in Treatment of Medical Conditions.
* Eligibility: The candidates should be M.Sc. in Biochemistry or allied subject
2. Biophysics
* Carcinogenesis studies: Development of Natural and modified compound and diagnostic technologies.
* Eligibility: The candidate must have M.Sc. in Biophysics or allied sciences.
3. Biotechnology
* Screening of Bioactive compounds from Environment using classical and Molecular Approaches.
* Area: “Antiparasitic Natural Products from Plants”
* Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in any field of Biological Sciences with at least 55% marks.
* Desirable: CSIR/UGC/NET/ICMR/Panjab University Ph.D. entrance examination clearance in Biotechnology.
4. Botany
* Biodiversity: Status, Evaluation, threat of loss and control measure.
* The eligibility criteria for admission shall be as per DST/CSIR rules adopted by Panjab University. Applications would be invited from students for research in the broader fields like: Physiology/Cytology/Taxonomy/Ecology/Morphogenesis/Bio-Chemistry/Pathology etc. of different plant groups namely Algae, Fungi, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Angiosperms and Gymnosperms.
5. Microbiology
* HYPER-PRODUCTION OF INDUSTRIAL ENZYMES OF MICROBIAL ORIGIN FOR USE IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, PULP & PAPER INDUSTRY, THERAPEUTICS AND PRODUCTION OF SECOND GENERATION BIOFUEL
* Qualifications: Essential: M.Sc. Microbiology/Biotechnology with at least 55% marks. NET or Panjab University Microbiology Exam cleared.
